What is your photography style?
My goal is to tell your story in an honest, artful way. I’m drawn to light, texture, and emotion, creating imagery that feels timeless and a little bit like a daydream. I want you to look back on these photographs and remember exactly how it felt, as beautifully as it did that day.
What time do the sessions take place?
We can schedule a time that is suitable for you and your family’s schedule. In general, the best time for an outdoor photoshoot is mornings when the sun rises or late afternoons, or an hour before sunset (for that soft, golden hour glow). For at-home sessions, natural lighting is ideal at around midday.
What should I wear to the shoot?
After we have our first call, I will send a detailed photoshoot guide to help you prepare for your session, including a tips on what to wear and to bring. For newborn sessions, I will share specific information on what to expect.
What if I have some ideas?
If you have any ideas, inspiration, or even a feeling you would like your photos to capture, let's build on that! Your session is a collaboration and I want you to feel invested and connected to the experience. Let's create photos that feel 100% you!
What if my kids don't cooperate?
I want to reassure you that I will not be put out by any excitement, tears or resistence! We have plenty of time and can take little breaks if needed. Children lead the way in my sessions. When they're curious, we follow. When they're shy, we slow down. I'll never ask them to "smile for the camera". Instead, I want them to be themselves.
What is your turnaround time?
For digital images, the turnaround time is 2 weeks after your session. You will then have full gallery access for 30 days. I strongly recommend backing up your final images. Super 8 video production takes one month.
When should I book?
If you want to guarantee a particular date then I would recommend booking as early as possible! Otherwise, 3-4 weeks in advance would be great. If you think we are good fit, you can make an enquiry. Simply fill out the form above and I will come back to you as soon as possible.
What if it rains?
I'll keep an eye out on the weather, and if it's raining or too windy (especially by the coast!), we can reschedule. On cloudy days, the lighting is actually ideal: everything looks gorgeously soft and diffused! Those are my absolute favorite days to shoot.
Can I reschedule?
I am happy to reschedule due to weather conditions, family emergency / sickness / illness / health concerns. Just let me know as soon as possible and we can start looking at some alternative dates based on both of our availability.
Can I share the photos online?
Of course! You can share your photos with your loved ones or post them on social media. All I would ask is that you to kindly tag me (@dawnstudio.lisbon) in any pictures you share!
