Newborn Bliss: How To Capture Those Magical First Weeks
There’s something sacred about the first few weeks with your newborn—the sleepy stretches, tiny fingers, the quiet awe. It’s a whirlwind, but it’s also full of stillness.
Timing: When to Book?

In general, I recommend booking your newborn session from two weeks past your due date—when baby is still curled up and sleepy, but you've had some time to settle.

That said, this is completely flexible. Every birth journey is different, and the priority is your rest and recovery. Choose a time that feels right for you.
Where It Happens: Home or Outdoors?

Most newborn sessions take place in the comfort of your home — where we can capture cuddles on the bed, quiet feedings, and early bonds forming between siblings.
Being in your own space allows everyone to relax naturally, which leads to more honest, tender moments captured on camera.
Of course, some families love the idea of stepping outside — and gentle cuddles beneath the trees or a soft morning stroll can feel just as magical.
What Are The Sessions Like?

Your session should be slow, baby-led, and stress-freeWe can take breaks for feeding, changing, and soothing — there's no rush.
Most of the time, you’ll be simply cuddling and soaking up those early days while I capture all the feelings.
These sessions can be as intimate or inclusive as you wish. Partners, siblings, pets—everyone is part of this new chapter. We’ll document your growing family with warmth and honesty.
Add Personal Touches

Bring in a family heirloom or jewelry, your baby’s first toy, or a hand-knit blanket. These details tell your story—and make the images feel even more special.
Embrace the Imperfect

You just created life — that’s more than enough. You don’t need to “look” a certain way. Your home doesn’t need to be spotless. A cozy spot near a window is perfect.
Whichever outfit you choose, keep it simple and neutral to let your baby shine. Soft textures like knits, linen, or subtle patterns can add beautiful depth to your photos.
A newborn session isn’t about posing or perfection. It’s about remembering the way they felt in your arms — and those tender early days.
